My research has tended to focus on behavioural and experimental economics. I have used a variety of research methods, including field experiments, lab experiments, online experiments, micro-econometrics, meta-analysis and systematic literature review.
Within behavioural economics, my work has focused in particular on the topics of discrimination and social norms. I am keen to study the effects of culture and religion on behaviour, and also hold strong interests in experimental methodology and happiness economics. However, topics from any area of economics, or from across the social sciences, may take my interest.
I joined the School of Economics at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China in March 2018 as an Assistant Professor, specialising particularly in the fields of experimental and behavioural economics. I am also a member of the Centre for Decision Research and Experimental Economics (CeDEx), a world-leading behavioural and experimental economics research group within the School of Economics at the University of Nottingham (UK), where I received my PhD in 2017. I am currently the Local Director of CeDEx China, a CeDEx offshoot at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. My work has been published in such journals as the European Economic Review, the Journal of Public Economics, Oxford Economic Papers, Behavioural Public Policy, and the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics.
I am currently module convenor for the Year 3 course Experimental and Behavioural Economics, and the Year 4 course Advanced Experimental and Behavioural Economics.
I have previously taught courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level in microeconomics, macroeconomics and quantitative analysis.
I taught at the 2018 Summer School in Experimental Economics at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in Wuhan, China.
