Personal profile
Professor Peter Hofman is Professor in Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance at Nottingham University Business School China. His research broadly covers business-government-society interaction in the areas of innovation and sustainable business strategies. He has published numerous articles, books, book chapters and reports on corporate social responsibility in Europe and China, innovation in Chinese SMEs, system innovation, governance of innovation, technology transfer and sustainable business strategies in academic journals such as Asia Pacific Journal of Management, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Business & Society, Journal of Cleaner Production, Energy Policy, Technology Analysis and Strategic Management, Business Strategy and the Environment, and Innovation: Management, Policy and Practice. He has successfully led a number of research grants in the areas of corporate social responsibility and human resource management in Chinese firms, eco-innovation in Chinese firms, and finance mechanisms for diffusion of clean technologies. He previously received grants from the Dutch National Scientific Council for research on system innovation in the energy sector, and was involved in European Union funded projects on innovation and environmental management. He is currently an international expert for a project of the Asian Development Bank and the Development Research Center of the State Council of China on improving energy efficiency in the Chinese manufacturing industry and was an international member of a policy study on Corporate Social Responsibility for Green Development for the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development.
