Dr Michael McNamara joined Nottingham University Business School China in May 2023. Michael has extensive teaching experience with a focus on teaching commercial law topics to business students. Previously, Michael was a Senior Lecturer at the College of Business Government and Law at Flinders University in Australia, during which time he received a Vice President and Executive Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. 

Michael completed his PhD at Griffith Law School where he worked as a legal clinic supervisor and was awarded a Griffith University Postgraduate Research Scholarship. Prior to becoming a full-time academic, Michael worked as a solicitor practising mainly in the areas business and property law.

Michael is the author of Supervision in the Legal Profession (Palgrave Macmillan 2020) which is the first book dedicated to the topic of professional supervision in the context of legal practice.
