As a researcher Jose has taken part in several research projects related to transport economics, environment, cultural economics and health economics. He has published 14 peer-reviewed papers in Transportation Research A, Culture Trends, Applied Economics, Scottish Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Cultural Economics, Food Quality and Preference, The Journal of Health Economics, Social Sciences & Medicine; Transport Policy and Empirical Economics.

Dr Jose M. Grisolia is an expert in discrete choice modelling applied to different areas such as health, transport, culture and environmental economics.


Jose has 23 years teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He have worked in Universidad de Las Palmas (Spain), Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (National Open University, in Spain), University of London, University of Newcastle, Queens university in Belfast and Xi’an Jiaotong –Liverpool University. His teaching has been in the area of micro and macroeconomics especially but he has also taught History of Economic Thought, Environmental Economics, International Economics and Econometrics. During three years Jose was in charge of Economics for Business, a module within the MBA programme at Xi’an Jiaotong – Liverpool University
