Personal profile

I stuided a BA in English Studies with International Business at the University of Nottingham Ningbo. I pursued an MA in English Linguistics at the University College London. I gained a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Nottingham under a fully funded PhD scholarhip. 

Research Interests

My research interest lies in the broad fields of multilingualism and nation buidling. I have devloped expertiesed in Chinese nation building theories including national identity, ethniicty, citizenship, and cultural representation strategies. In my PhD study, I innovatively combine critical discourse analysis, historical linguistics and ethnography to explore power relations in the multiofacted and complaex representations of becoming a 'Chinese Mongolian' from the early twentieth century to the present. time through a wide range of sources, including language policy documents, Chinese language textbooks, a Mongolian Chinese bilingual dictionary and contemporary ethnographic informed fieldwork.
