There are fully funded scholarships for PhD study in a fully English environment at The University of Nottingham (Ningbo and UK campuses). Successful graduates will be awarded PhD certificate from University of Nottingham, UK. Interested Applicants in the above research area are welcome to contact Dr Jian Yang at Jian.Yang@nottingham.edu.cn for more information.

Personal profile

Prof Jian Yang is a Professor in Mechanical Engineering (Dynamics and Control) at The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC). He obtained his PhD from the University of Southampton UK in nonlinear mechanical vibrations. Prior to that, he did his BEng from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China. Before taking the current position at UNNC, Dr Yang worked as a postdoctoral research fellow  in the Department of Aerospace Engineering, University of Bristol. Prof Yang is a Fellow of RAeS (Royal Aeronautical Society), Fellow of Advance HE (formerly the High Education Academy, UK), a senior member of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES) and a reviewer for many international journals. He has acted as PI of two NSFC projects (Young Scientist & General), one Zhejiang NSF project, and three Ningbo NSF projects. PhD students whom Dr Yang supervised as the principal supervisor have found faculty positions in China and the the UK.
