Personal profile
Dr Ayotunde Dawodu joined the Department of Architecture and Built Environment of the University of Nottingham, Ningbo China (UNNC) in 2019. At UNNC, Ayotunde has executed several building and urban based projects, which include, inter alia, predictive energy modelling for buildings, survey techniques for planning integrated design, meta-analysis, and qualitative research on sustainability indicators.
His current research is focused on Neighbourhood, Campus and Building Sustainability Assessment Tools. Tools under investigation include BREEAM, LEED, CASBEE etc. Ayotunde has also worked on practical projects that include ‘green infrastructure’, ‘eco-city development’, ‘sustainable neighbourhoods and cities in developing nations’, ‘energy and cooling’, ‘low-carbon town planning’, and ‘sustainable neighbourhoods in China.’ He is also one of the very few people in China certified professionally as a BREEAM Accredited International New Construction Assessor and BREEAM Accredited Trainer.
Additionally, Ayotunde investigates the implication of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in attaining urban sustainability in various cities of developing countries. To this end, he has published a two-book called ‘Sustainable Urban Development in the Age of Climate Change: People, the Cure or Curse’ and ‘Sustainable Urbanism in China.
