Abstract

As scientific and technological advancements accelerate alongside rapid urbanization, driving innovation in concrete products, people's aesthetic and functional demands for building materials continue to rise. Translucent concrete, with its exceptional light-transmitting visual effects, endows building materials with entirely new artistic expressiveness and design possibilities. However, this material currently faces significant drawbacks, including high production costs, a high degree of customization, and low recycling rates, which severely constrain its application at scale and sustainable development.

Based on modular design theory, this study experimentally designed new forms of modularization for fiber optic bundles, production molds, and translucent concrete products. By developing innovative fiber optic arrangement patterns and modular structural configurations, standardized and prefabricated product components were achieved. Combined with modular mold design, this approach significantly streamlined production processes, reduced manufacturing complexity and production costs, and enabled intensive resource utilization.

The application of the modular design concept not only enhances production efficiency but also significantly expands the applicability of products in scenarios such as building facades and interior decoration. With the continuous growth of green building demands, modular translucent concrete products, leveraging their advantages of standardization, prefabrication, and resource efficiency, hold broader market prospects in smart city construction and green product design. This paves a new development path for translucent concrete products—one that is energy-efficient, high performance, green, and low-carbon.
