Abstract

A Post-COVID Proposal for Teaching & Learning Spanish for Professional Purposes and Intercultural Competence
The keynote address presented a unique case study consisting in the application of a holistic approach to intercultural competence in a course of Spanish for Professional Purposes taught in the Spanish Programme of the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at HKU. The course showcased in the presentation involved the collaboration of university students from Colombia and Hong Kong in the design of an Asian-Latin American business project. More than 3800 participants from all over the world registered for the event. The feedback received from the conference participants suggests that the presentation was well received and is likely to produce an impact in the teaching and learning of foreign languages for specific purposes.
