Abstract

Intelligent flow chemistry represents a transformative approach to chemical synthesis, integrating automated flow systems with artificial intelligence to enable autonomous synthesis and materials discovery. Herein, we discuss the essential infrastructure of these systems, including automated components and decision-making algorithms, and explain how their integration determines system capabilities. Furthermore, we highlight critical applications, such as catalyst and reaction route design, performance prediction, selfoptimizing reaction conditions, and scale-up of flow processes, to demonstrate their impact on synthetic and materials chemistry. By summarizing recent advances in flow automation and machine learning, this review provides a comprehensive overview of how intelligent flow chemistry is reshaping modern synthesis and accelerating the discovery of novel reactions and materials.
