title = "Compulsive Bingers or Faithful Fans: Binge-watching behaviour analysis using viewing data and Twitter discourse for 'The Traitors US'",
abstract = "Binge-watching is of academic interest, not least for the potential links between 'excessive' media consumption and wellbeing. This study analyses binge-watching behaviours relating to 'The Traitors US' using BBC iPlayer viewing data and Twitter discourse. Findings show viewing engagement increased as the finale approached, with some consumers watching over nine hours of content in one day. Twitter sentiment analysis includes themes of excitement, compulsion, and concern for spoilers. As binge-watching proliferates globally, big data analysis of real-world data may offer valuable insights into viewers' motivations and the binge-watching phenomenon.",
