Abstract

BIM-based digital twin models are pivotal for the AEC industry, providing essential data for optimizing design, construction, and operations, and enhancing production quality and efficiency. Despite the ISO 19650 framework, the complexity of these models poses challenges for current visualization and interaction technologies, affecting information acquisition efficiency. This study highlights the importance of interaction design in facilitating project coordination and explores intelligent interaction design, which integrates human-computer interaction and new media art theories to bridge the real and digital worlds. Gamification, as a subset of intelligent interaction design, is noted for its potential to increase user engagement and project quality through instant feedback. A prototype for smart traffic digital twin interaction, developed based on these theories and technologies, is presented. Initial discussions on its impacts are provided, with future research planned for deeper analysis and validation.
