Abstract

In this paper, we propose an interference alignment based cancellation scheme for a multi-cell network with interfering multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) users. The proposed scheme aims two dominant sources of interference using an appropriately designed beamforming (BF) matrix. It will be shown that exploiting this technique allows to transform the multi-cell MIMO channel into a single-cell MIMO channel and achieve (L-1) degrees of freedom (DoF) per user for L cells with one user per cell.
