Abstract

The present invention relates to system and method for data gathering in a Wireless Sensor Network in the presence of temporary adverse environmental conditions. More particularly the invention relates to sensor device having capability of dual mode of communication using two modes: RF communication mode and acoustic communication mode, where a sensor device switches from RF communication mode to acoustic communication mode in the presence of radiations, and, switches back to RF communication mode on the resumption of favorable conditions.
