Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new link selection (relay link or direct link) scheme for the full duplex (FD) two-way (TW) amplify-and-forward (AF) relay system with the existence of the direct link, where the relay link or direct link is adaptively selected to assist the communication procedure between the source and the destination. The system performance in terms of the outage probability of the proposed scheme is investigated. Simulation results show the great performance gain of the proposed scheme compared to the conventional scheme without consideration of the direct link, especially in the high transmit power regime. In addition, the impacts of the residual self-interference (RSI) incurred by the FD transmission are also revealed. Monte Carlo simulations also guarantee the correctness of our analytical results.
