Developing a framework for Chinese short-films with international appeal

Throughout 2022, Chinese short-films experienced unprecedented
success across a wealth of highly esteemed international festivals.
Following these successes, the project seeks to identify key elements that
saw these films revered by global audiences. In turn, a framework
comprising these newly unearthed characteristics will be rendered to
support Chinese filmmakers who seek international plaudits. The
paradigm’s validity will be proven through advancing the framework to
create a student short-film that will be submitted to international
festivals. This project will not only promote international visibility and
distribution of Chinese short-films, but will also create major intercultural
and economic impact
