Personal profile

Zhangfan Cao is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Accounting at the Nottingham University Business School China. Zhangfan received his Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Edinburgh and was a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. 

His research focuses on market-based accounting research, corporate finance and governance, supply chain finance, ESG, and capital market. He has published in ABS-listed 3 and 4-star journals, including Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial Management, British Journal of Management, Regional Studies, British Accounting Review, Corporate Governance: An International Review, International Business Review, and Journal of Business Research among others. 

Research Interests

Zhangfan's research interests are mainly in the areas of market-based accounting research, corporate finance, ESG, and capital markets. In particular, Zhangfan's research is keen on understanding how non-financial stakeholders and other intangible assets, along with non-financial information, influence and interact with capital markets.
