Research Interests
Dr Xu’s research interests cover studies of mobile media, mobilities, and mobile communications. His specific research areas include mobile experience, mobile storytelling, mobile health communication, mobile learning, mobile for sustainable development goals, and the impact of mobile media, mobilities, and mobile communications on global societies.
Professional Information
Dr Xu is the editor-in-chief of an IGI Global book series Advances in Wireless Technologies and Telecommunications (AWTT), which has published 81 volumes. As the founding chair of Mobile Studies Congress, he organizes the annual event. He also organizes the annual Mobile Studies Summer School.
He is the founder of Mobile Studies International, a global community of scholars, professionals and policy-makers who are interested in studies of mobile media, mobilities, and mobile communication. He is the founder of Mobile518, a Singapore-based mobile consulting firm. He is also the founding director of Institute for Mobiile Studies at University of Nottingham Ningbo China.
