Dr. Xiaodan Yu is an Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China). She serves as an Associate Editor for Industrial and Corporate Change and is an affiliate of the Institute of Economics at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. Prior to joining NUBS, she held research positions at the National Research Council (CNR) and Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Italy. She has also been a visiting scholar at the Ross School of Business (University of Michigan) and BETA (University of Strasbourg).

Her research focuses on the economics of innovation, entrepreneurship, firm growth, and industrial dynamics. Her work has appeared in world-leading journals, including Research Policy, Industrial and Corporate Change, and Small Business Economics. As a Principal Investigator (PI), she successfully led and completed a prestigious research grant from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), which investigated corporate science and radical innovation. Additionally, she has contributed to major European Union-funded projects, including GROWINPRO and ISIGrowth.
