I am a political scientist and a China expert. I have an emerging international research profile in the area of Chinese politics, digital politics and the politics of digital subcultures.
Having an interdisciplinary research profile in political sciences and communication studies, my theoretical expertise covers propaganda, nationalism, ideology, discourse and political communication. My research approach is predominantly constructivist or post-positivist. Methodologically, I lean to the qualitative approach, in particular, virtual ethnography and content analysis, though I am also trained in quantitative methods such as the use of Stata. My current research interest is the political economy and cultural production of virtual influencer.
