Personal profile
Dr Sibo Pan is a designer, researcher, and design educator working across human–computer interaction, digital health, and emerging AI technologies. She explores how interactive and intelligent design can support healthier, more meaningful everyday practices.
Research
Her doctoral research examined digital tools for healthier eating in workplace contexts, using qualitative inquiry, co-design, design fiction, prototyping, and in-context evaluation. Her recent work has expanded to generative AI, multimodal interaction, digital humans, and AI-enabled creative applications.
She has contributed to interdisciplinary projects in the Netherlands and China, including the 4TU Pride and Prejudice programme and a National Social Science Fund of China Youth Project. Her research has appeared in Behaviour & Information Technology, Frontiers in Psychology, The Design Journal, NordiCHI, and PervasiveHealth. She also reviews for Springer Nature journals and ACM venues, including CHI, DIS, and TOMM.
Teaching
Dr Sibo Pan has taught courses and project-based modules in interaction design, design thinking, AIoT, intelligent wearables, and AI-enabled creative practice. Her teaching connects critical inquiry with hands-on experimentation, supporting students in translating emerging technologies into responsible, human-centred design outcomes.
