Shuai Yuan is an Associate Professor in Accounting and a PhD supervisor at the NUBS China. He holds a PhD from King's College London, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a member of the Expert Bank of the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, and a Ningbo High-Level Talent. He has served as the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Youth Program and as a core Co-Investigator (CI) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) General Program. He has published more than 20 papers in top-tier journals and serves as a reviewer for more than 20 SSCI- and SCI-indexed journals.

Yuan's publications appear in European Accounting Review (EAR), Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal (AAAJ), Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance (JAAF), Journal of Accounting Literature (JAL), European Financial Management (EFM), International Review of Financial Analysis (IRFA), Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting (RQFA).
