Dr. Poon is currently an Associate Professor in School of Computer Science at University of Nottingham, Ningbo China. Previously, he was a Professor in School of Computing and Informatics at University of Technology Brunei. Before that, he was ever an Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Science at National Tsing Hua University. He received his PhD degree in Computer Science from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2004. Since 2015, He has been selected to serve as a Steering Committee member in Asian Association for Algorithms and Computation (AAAC). He has done a lot of excellent research in his areas of expertise. He has published over 70 refereed journal and conference papers. To further develop the research profile, he is currently recruiting smart PhD students. Informal discussions about research cooperation are always welcome.

His research interests include Algorithms and Data Structures, Complexity Analysis, Graph Drawing, Graph Algorithms, Geometric Computation, and Information Visualization.
