Shaun Goldfinch is Professor of International Studies, in the School of International Studies, and Associate Dean of Research and Knowledge Exchange in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.  His research and teaching interests are in comparative public administration and public management, public policy, fragile states and statebuilding, and development.  He has published 6 books, and his many articles have appeared in leading international journals including Public Administration Review, Management International Review, Journal of Peace Research, Public Management Review, Public Administration, Public Administration and Development, and International Review of Administrative Sciences. His most recent book is the 2023 edited collection, Handbook of Public Administration Reform.  Cheltenham: Edward Elgar.

Prof Goldfinch has consulted and worked for governments around the world, and has held positions in the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, and Fiji. 

Prof. Shaun Goldfinch's research interests are in comparative public administration and public management, public policy, fragile states and statebuilding, and development. 

As well as comparative research, Prof Goldfinch has specialist expertise on New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Japan, and the South Pacific.
