Dr Peter Thomas Lamb's principal research interests are in management education and learning, leadership in private and public organisations in China and the diffusion and translation of management ideas in time and space. Theoretically, his research is informed by institutional theory.
Recent research has looked at Translation theory and the translation of MBA content and pedagogy to China and the effects of Transformational Leadership on work outcomes in China.
Dr Peter Thomas Lamb is interested in how to involve students and other users in the translation and adaptation of theories, knowledge and ideas, as an alternative to delivering ready-made and pre-packaged theories. He is interested in exploring how user-centred translation could be adopted and supported as an interactive approach for helping students learn to become independent translators and learners. He is also interested in how organisational strategies are translated within organisations.
As the Faculty of Business Director of Teaching Development, Dr Peter Thomas Lamb is responsible for growing faculty capacity with respect to teaching and learning through professional development initiatives, policy design and implementation.
