Multiscale Objective-oriented Process Development
Dr. O’Young has been working on the workflow and promotion of this methodology for years. In short, firstly need to identify the true bottleneck then synthesis potential solutions. Finally developing the solution effectively.
Application of thermodynamics in process design
How to best use the correct thermodynamics information for design a chemical process, such as VLE for distillation, SLE for crystallization, Pinch analysis for heat integration, etc. More importantly, is how to use them simultaneously at the right point for solving the right problem.
Personal profile
Dr. O’Young has over 30 years of experience in process development, synthesis, and experience. His expertise covers a broad knowledge base including applied thermodynamics, energy management, distillation and crystallization based separations, and reaction engineering.
Throughout his career, Dr. O’Young has successfully built several plants with a new concept and/or catalyst and chemistry; also many successful process improvements such as energy reduction projects. He also owns several process patents and has number of presentation and publications.
Since 2002 he found ClearWaterBay Technology, Inc. in California and subsequently founded ClearWaterBay Technology, Ltd. in Hong Kong SAR. With these two companies, CWB can offer total solution for their clients from Laboratory work to Pilot study. Currently, he is the President for both organization.
Currently, Dr. O’Young is active in the Zhejiang providence of China. A new plant is under-construction using his patented technology. That will be the first plant worldwide that producing 1.4-cyclohexane Dimethanol with direct hydrogenation of terephthalic acid.
