Personal profile

Personal profile

Jaime began his academic career studying Law, but soon realised that his true calling lay in language teaching. While still a Law student, he organised study groups with international students to help them understand the particularities of legal language. Upon completing his university studies, he decided to become a Spanish teacher and began his career as a teacher of Spanish for business in Estonia, where he ultimately established himself as a teacher of general Spanish for a diverse range of levels and age groups. After returning to Spain to complete his Master's degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, he continued his teaching work in China, becoming a DELE examiner and taking on positions of responsibility in the DELE examinations in Hong Kong. He has taught at several prestigious Chinese universities, such as Sun Yat-sen University and Jinan University in Guangzhou. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Applied Linguistics at the University of Santiago de Compostela, while simultaneously teaching at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China and holding the position of Senior Tutor at the Language Centre.
