Jae Joon (JJ) Lee is an Assistant Professor in Economics in the Department of Finance, Accounting, and Economics at Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China). His research interests are centered around topics such as improving the measurement of the digital economy, applying machine learning to measure individual-level latent parameters, developing better methodologies to uncover consumers' preferences, and identifying behavioral biases in digital activities and managerial practices. He has published his work in a leading economic journal, such as “American Economic Journal: Microeconomics.” He has also won several external research grants and awards, including the US National Science Foundation (NSF) research grant and the Facebook Research Award. Before joining NUBS China, he worked at Stanford University for four years as a postdoctoral scholar and at MIT for one year before that. He received his PhD in economics from Claremont Graduate University, specializing in behavioral and experimental economics. Jae Joon has previous work experience as a business consultant, financial analyst, and policy analyst in South Korea before his doctoral studies. He also holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Seoul National University and a master’s degree in public policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management.
