Dr Eun Woo Kim’s research interests lie in corporate governance, human capital management, social movement, and big data.

Dr Eun Woo Kim is an Assistant Professor in International Business and Management (IBM) department at Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China), University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC). Dr. Kim’s research interests include corporate governance, human capital management, social movement, and big data.  

Before joining UNNC, Dr Kim received her Ph.D. in Management and Organizations from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business. Her dissertation explores how the ownership and control of publicly traded firms in the US by index funds and activist hedge funds affect managerial attention to human capital and employees’ rating of their firms. In recognition of her dissertation work, she was awarded the E. Han Kim Doctoral Fellowship in 2018, an award given annually to one doctoral candidate in the Ross School of Business or the Department of Economics.

Dr Kim worked as a researcher at Yonsei-SERI (Samsung Economic Research Institute) European Union Centre in Seoul, Korea (2011-2012). She also participated in an exchange program at the University of California, Berkeley (2009-2010) and a visiting program at Peking University (2007-2008).
