Experimental study on the influence of wire rope arrangement with the shear strengthening

Abstract

Shear strengthening of the RC beams is an important task in the bridge strengthening and reconstruction field. The article is based on five shear strengthening RC beams used external prestressed wire rope and two comparative beam; researching on the effect of rectangular beam of vertical and slanting arrangement with wire rope, different kinds of anchorage of T-beam to the shear strengthening. The study shows that the external prestressed wire rope of shear strengthening can remarkably improve the cracking load stiffness shearing capacity of the oblique section; for the rectangular beam U closed arrangement is better than that of slanting arrangement to the strengthening effect. To T beams, the effect of three arrangement strengthening is almost as the same as the improvement of bearing strength, and there is also no clear differences between the effect of U open placement (web anchoring) strengthening and the effect of U open arrangement (flange anchoring). The research results can also be for reference in the area of bridge shear strengthening.
