The edited book Universo china: una mirada desde dentro (China Universe: a look from within) was selected as finalist of the 2024 FAD Award to Thought and Critique. Evaluation of the Jury (in English): It is unlikely that readers will have the opportunity of finding a better book for understanding contemporary Chinese architecture through a reading of its historical roots. Because Universo China is, above all, an important work that recalls the importance of translating systems of thought that encipher architectural codes, from one language to another. It compiles essays never before gathered in Spanish, by prominent Chinese academics and architects such as Pu Miao, Ying Zhou, Peng Nu, Liu Jiakun, Zhu Tao, Zhang Jiajing and Dong Yugan. Although one recognises the absence of figures such as Wang Shu, it is fair to underscore that many of the principal architects of this Asian country are represented. Its texts explore contemporary architecture in China from perspectives of tradition, culture and city, examining how various historical, socioeconomic and political factors have given shape to their urban spaces and design.
